Jade & Alex’s Real Wedding

The Story

Thank you so much, Jade and Alex, for allowing us to feature your beautiful day. As someone who has been part of so many love stories here at Woodhall Manor, we are truly honoured to have been a part of your own. We would love to hear your reflections on your wedding day and what it meant to celebrate it in a place so close to your heart.

Jade, you know Woodhall Manor better than anyone – what made it feel extra special for your own wedding day?

Knowing how smoothly the Wedding days here at Woodhall manor run. also, that my work family will be there working on our wedding day.

Having helped so many couples plan their weddings here, how did it feel to experience the journey from a bride’s perspective?

It was really lovely; Sarah was amazing ensuring all of my plans come to life on our wedding day.

Were there any personal touches or details you added that really captured your love for the venue and your unique style?

I had Pampas/Flower pedestals and floral arrangements that complimented the ballroom really well with the wisteria trees, I also had the Grecian chair sashes tied to the side which really set the room.

With so many gorgeous ceremony spaces at Woodhall, which one did you choose for your vows and why?

I chose the Ballroom, my intention was to get married outside in the dovecot, unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our side which meant we had to use our indoor option. Although Alex and I both agreed after that we were glad that it was raining as we wouldn’t have used the ballroom if not. The ballroom looked Phenomenal. the Staff done an amazing job with the décor.

What was the most magical moment of your day? Was there a moment that truly took your breath away?

The most magical moment of the day was seeing Alex standing there in the ballroom, realising that our day was here and seeing all our decorations come together, Seeing the Ballroom set up as our ceremony took my breath away at how beautiful it looked.

Food is such a big part of any wedding! What did you choose for your menu, and was there a standout dish that you or your guests loved?

For our Mains We chose Pan fried chicken & the Salmon Fillet, the food had amazing reviews from our guests especially the Chicken dish.

We know the Manor is full of stunning photo opportunities – where was your favourite spot to capture those once-in-a-lifetime moments?

My favourite spot is round the back of the Manor in front of the fountains, also we used the wild grass which was a great hidden Gem for photos.

As someone who knows every corner of Woodhall Manor, was there a space that felt particularly meaningful or special to you on your wedding day?

The Garden Lounge felt very special to us on our day, this was the room where all guests had so much fun in the evening.

Your evening reception must have been amazing! How did you and your guests celebrate into the night?

It really was!! We Danced all night long. we had our resident DJ Jack, it was lovely to have him apart of our wedding day, prior to the wedding we asked all guests to send us a song they wanted; this was great as everyone was up dancing throughout the night. We also had Sunglasses with our wedding date on and glow sticks also, having props for the evening added to the fun and made great photos.

What advice would you give to couples planning their wedding at Woodhall Manor, based on your own experience – both as a bride and a wedding planner?

I would say don’t sweat the small things and remember it is your wedding so definitely think of what you both would like/enjoy most and if the weather isn’t the best for you to get married outside then the indoor options will still be beautiful.

Did working at Woodhall Manor give you any unique insights into planning your day that you think other couples might find useful?

Working at Woodhall made me add an extra half an hour to my reception drinks, I think this is a great idea so that the Bride & Groom have longer for photos and to enjoy their drinks and canapes.

If you could relive one part of your wedding day, what would it be and why?

The ceremony as I was so amazing, I felt quite nervous during this moment so if I was to do it again I would try to relax more and take it all in.

Finally, are there any wonderful suppliers from your day that you would love to recommend to future couples?

All of them!!

Make Up – Emily Chantal– She is amazing!! The best makeup artist that I have met through working at Woodhall manor. And fun to be around on the wedding morning.

Hair – Paulas Parlour & Hair by Em- I have known these girls many years and they are amazing at what they do.

Florist – Kaye Souter Flowers– all our flowers were even more beautiful than we imagined.

Photographers – Bushfire Photography– Carl & Dibbs are the perfect duo it was more like having two extra guests as they are so friendly and fun to be around. Our photos are amazing!

Videographer- Benjamin Race Videography – Ben is the best videographer around and having the videos of our day made us relive it all again, I would 100% recommend every wedding having a videographer.

Red & Black Casinos – having the Casino/Roulette tables added to our evening, it was great for guests to have something extra to do on the evening.

The Wedding Creche – we hired the wedding creche due to having around 12 children attend our wedding, we have said this was one of our best purchases, the children were really well looked after, and they had so much fun! This also allowed the Parents to have a relaxed day.
